Summer Reading 2023 Preview!
Summer Reading Begins!
Attend storytimes, complete activities and log reading time to be entered into drawings for some great prizes!
Registration for Summer Reading begins June 9th!
If you are already registered with Beanstack, simply log into your account and sign up for the summer reading challenge there. If this is your first time on Beanstack, create your new account.
Once you have registered, be sure to stop in at your local library branch to pick up your summer reading t-shirt, and badge book (while supplies last).
You can start logging your minutes and completing activities beginning June 16, 2023. You can also download the Beanstack Tracker app for iOS and Android.
The Beanstack Tracker app is easy to use and has some new features this year. The app allows you to:
- Track all the books each member of your family is currently reading and has finished reading
- Use the app’s barcode scanner to quickly add titles to your reading log.
- Record reading sessions to log reading times, or log an entire book with a click.
- Achieve streaks for reading multiple days in a row and badges for reaching reading goals.
- View your reading stats, including totals and averages of your time spent reading and titles read.
- Add friends within your library with a unique friend code.
- View your leaderboard and compete with friends.
- Works hand-in-hand with Badge Books to inspire young readers with custom reading challenges that include virtual and sticker badges, away-from-screen activities, and book recommendations.
Complete Activities, Earn Badges!
Complete any activity in the badge book to earn a badge and a prize drawing entry.
Try out CreativeBug classes! You can earn a badge and entry into a prize drawing.
Page Turner Adventures Virtual Kindly Ever After Adventures will begin on June 23rd
Story Walks
Three Story Walks will be put up this summer.
Each Story Walk will be up for two weeks. Just follow the story boards and read the story along the way.
Then log in to Beanstack to claim the badge for that story.
- Irrigon's story walks will be located in the grass next to the library
- Heppner's will be in the park next to the library
- Boardman's will alternate week to week between the Little Tots Park and the City Park.

We are excited to announce a free puppet show presented by The Dragon Theater at all three branches of the Oregon Trail Library District!

Pajama Storytime
Our final summer reading storytime on July 28th will be a Pajama Storytime!
Come dressed in your pajamas and join us for a cozy and fun morning of storytelling.
Don't forget to bring your favorite stuffed animal or blanket to snuggle up with.
